Raaz 3 : Hindi Movie Review and Critics Ratings

Raaz 3 : Hindi Movie Review
Average Rating: 2.5/5
(Based on web reviews)

Plot
The story revolves around Shanaya (Bipasha Basu), an actress at the height of her success. She gets offered the best roles and wins all the awards she's nominated for. In addition, she also has a passionate affair with a handsome director named Aditya (Emraan Hashmi). This all ends when a younger actress, Sanjana (Esha Gupta) makes her film debut. Suddenly, Shanaya seems forgotten and everybody only wants to work with Sanjana.

Soon enough, Aditya also leaves Shanaya for Sanjana, and Shanaya sees her career fading away and she slowly becomes crazy. She begins to turn to black magic and makes it her goal in life to destroy Sanjana and get back the man she loves, Aditya.

Emraan surrenders to the director's judgment absolutely, shedding all inhibitions and delivering a restrained and an authoritative presentation. Undeniably, Bipasha has an even more challenging role, but Emraan's fans won't be disappointed either. Esha Gupta appears awkward and self-conscious in the initial portions, but holds a few sequences graciously in the subsequent hour. I'd like to single out a scene when she has delusions of cockroaches attacking her. Her act in that particular scene is super.Manish Chaudhuri is excellent. Mohan Kapur is natural.

On the whole, RAAZ 3 is a story of staunch Indian beliefs and convictions in conjunction with a lethal combo of sex and horror in 3D, competent performances, an engaging human drama and most significantly, there's a gigantic brand value attached to it, which has worked extraordinarily well with the masses in the past. With this film, Vikram Bhatt raises the bar for horror films formulated on the home turf. If you are an enthusiast of supernatural thrillers/horror movies, RAAZ 3 should be on your list of 'things to do and watch' this weekend. Go, get ready to be spooked!

As filmmaker Aditya Arora, Emraan gets to kiss both the girls for long amounts of time, say “chu****pa” at one point, and fight off a creepy-looking monster in the film's climax. In other words, his fans should be sufficiently pleased. Esha Gupta's will be the role actresses in future corny B-grade horror films will refer to for lessons on screaming while keeping make-up intact. Bipasha comes across as desperate to make a mark in her meatiest role since Raaz, just like her character in the film. She does what every hard-working, committed-to-her-craft female actor in her place would have done – show ample skin.

Raaz 3, then, will leave you haunted and scarred in ways black magic can't. Wait for the DVD and watch it with friends, drunk

So what would you get when you pair a rather mediocre director with a couple of mediocre actors? No prizes for guessing, you get a mediocre film; best exemplified among this week's releases by Raaz 3.Teeming with campy elements of 1990s horror, popularised by American classics like Wishmaster and Faust, Raaz 3 is a typical Vikram Bhatt outing that would do brilliantly in a small town where television shows like Aahat are a rageThere is a serious dearth of anything creative, genuine or even mildly engaging in Raaz 3. Too much cliché, too much sleaze, too much predictability and too much of everything that makes a bad movie.
